This message board does not have many rules, but I do insist on maintaining some order. The following rules are toward that end:
Teasing, taunting, and trash talk are always welcome. Nothing is too chippy here, as long as it is within good taste and not profane. Profanity and tasteless remarks aren't welcome and will be dealt with via the yellow card. We all know what happens when you get two yellow cards, don't we? As to what constitutes 'profanity and tasteless remarks' - anything that I would not read to my 4 year old grandson qualifies for this ignominious designation. And like all referees I have the discretion to go right to the red card for particularly egregious behavior. (it's happened once).
Posters choose their own nicknames, often with the intention of remaining anonymous. No attempt to unmask a person's true identity will be tolerated. If anonymity can not be ensured, we might not have such candid discussions as we enjoy. Having said that, if you post on this message board purporting to be from one school and I know from the IP address from which you post that you are from another school, I will issue an 'IMPOSTOR ALERT' so that all will know not to bother taking you seriously. Repeated violations of this will result in the banning of all postings from IP addresses belonging to your school.
This board is not a democracy; it is a benevolent dictatorship. I do not think that I have been heavy-handed over the years in applying the few rules that I have, but ultimately I will decide what is in- or out-of-bounds.
I will lock this topic so that this message stands by itself, and pin it so it remains atop the other topics. Feel free to start another topic or e-mail me to discuss these rules, if you so choose.
